FAIRFAX CITY, VA — While Havabite Eatery still plans to close the doors of its Main Street location on March 31, the family restaurant will not be disappearing completely from the Fairfax area.

On Monday, the owners announced that Havabite will be operating at Mazadar Restaurant temporarily until a new permanent location can be found.

Mazadar, which specializes in Halal Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines, is located in Lee Plaza at 11725 Lee Highway near the Fairfax County Government Center.

“Our business has been a pillar in the Old-Town Fairfax City community for the past 47 years,” according to a post on the restaurant’s website. “We started from nothing and step-by-step, year-by-year, we have built a reputation, a faithful clientele, and an embedded place in the heart of this town. We've seen children grown into adults, families expand, and the city thrive. Old-Town Fairfax City isn't just our business location, it is our home.”

The current location is no longer feasible and the owners are looking for a newer location in Old Town, according to the website. Customers are invited to sign a petition to “help preserve heritage and stability of Old-Town Fairfax" and "Keep Our Local Business."
