Here are the top three stories today in Fairfax City:

  1. Fairfax County police announced the death of a victim in a single-vehicle crash in January. The Annandale resident, 27-year-old Bayron Hernandez Castellanos, who was expected to heal from injuries sustained during an alleged drunk driving incident on Jan. 27 has died. He was in the passenger seat of the truck Jamie Hernandez Castellanos was driving when Jamie lost control of the vehicle. (WTOP)
  2. The Fairfax County NAACP president launched a GoFundMe campaign for the man killed outside Tysons Corner Center. Last Wednesday, Timothy Johnson of Washington, D.C. stole designer sunglasses and then led police on a chase into the woods. The officers fired shots at him and Johnson died later in the hospital from his injuries. The Fairfax County NAACP launched a fundraiser for burial expenses and to offer some support for Johnson's two children. As of Feb. 27, $1,800 has been raised. (WJLA)
  3. A local Fairfax County student just launched a successful candle business. Alejandro Buxton, a 14-year-old from Fairfax County, is making delicious-smelling, pop culture-inspired candles with essential oils and natural ingredients.
