Order Big Lebowski For Breakfast, Gummy Bear Italian Ice in Fairfax: Deals
Fairfax City eateries have rolled out special summer menus, offering delicious deals designed to tempt diners.
FAIRFAX CITY, VA — With many Fairfax residents choosing to stay home in order to avoid the scorching heat, area restaurants are devising special menus and deals to lure diners out from the air-conditioned bungalows.
For example, Thompson Restaurants is rolling out a new breakfast menu at all of its Big Buns locations, including its restaurant at 10392 Fairfax Blvd. in Fairfax City. Diners can order a variety of indulgent breakfast sandwiches, including Bacon, Egg & Cheese; Egg & Cheese; and Turkey Sausage, and Egg & Cheese.
If that's not enough to whet your appetite, Big Buns is serving a variety of breakfast bowls, including The Big Lebowski Bowl, which combines four eggs scrambled with bourbon mushrooms, onions, seasoned kale, served over quinoa, topped diced red cabbage, red onions and tomatoes. All breakfast bowls include crispy tater tots, fresh orange juice, cold brew coffee and mimosas. You can also create your own Big Buns bundle for $11.50, which includes your choice of a sandwich, tater tots and orange juice.

"Our guests asked for breakfast, and we listened," said Kebba Gaye, area director of operations, Big Buns, Thompson Restaurants. "Big Buns has always been about bringing people together over damn good food, and now we are excited to extend that experience to weekend mornings. Whether guests are recovering from a late night or starting their day with friends, our breakfast menu delivers the same bold flavors and quality they’ve come to expect from us."
Gummy Bear Italian Ice Returns To Rita's In Fairfax City
The popular Gummy Bear Italian Ice is returning for a limited time this summer at the Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard at 10726 Fairfax Blvd. in Fairfax City.

Debuting in 2023, the sweet and fruity fan-favorite features white Italian Ice that "tastes like a handful of gummy bears and mixed with real gummy bears throughout," according to a release.
Rita's customers will also want to try the new Glittery Gummy Bear Gelati, a layered combo of Gummy Bear Italian Ice, creamy Vanilla Frozen Custard, and a shimmering Unicorn Glitter topping.
Gummy Bear Italian Ice and Glittery Gummy Bear Gelati will only be available through Aug. 24, while supplies last.
“At Rita’s, we’re focused on creating craveable experiences that tap into nostalgia and spark joy, and the return of Gummy Bear Italian Ice is a perfect example,” said Madalyn Weintraub, senior director of marketing at Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard. “We’re thrilled to bring it back in a new way with our Glittery Gummy Bear Gelati, a treat that amplifies everything fans love, with even more magic and visual appeal.”
Treat Yourself To A Refreshing Iced Beverage
The Founding Farmers location at 1800 Tysons Blvd. in Tysons invites customers to sample its Grapefuit Soda. The cool beverage consists of just three ingredients: honey syrup, unpasteurized grapefruit juice and carbonated water.
"At Founding Farmers, we said goodbye to artificial fizz and hello to scratch sodas that are bright, bold, and full of real flavor," according to a release. "Each soda is handcrafted and flavor-forward, featuring ingredients like tart grapefruit, citrusy orange, zesty ginger, tangy hibiscus, and more."
Scratch sodas are available for pick up and delivery. They can also be enjoyed at any Founding Farmers location.
