Read, Amos Surpass Opponents In Campaign Fundraising: Final Reports

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Mayor Catherine Read and Anthony Amos’ campaigns have continued to outpace their opponents in the Fairfax Mayor and City Council races, according to the Oct. 28 financial filings with the State Board of Elections. This is the last time candidates are required to share fundraising data until after next Tuesday’s election.

At the end of August, challenger Susan Hartly Kuiler was leading Read in fundraising by about $2,000, but then Read jumped ahead at the end of September, raising $16,343 to Kuiler’s $14,306, according to state financial filings, as reported by the nonprofit Virginia Public Access Project.
