First-Time Fairfax City Council Candidate Racks Up $25K In Donations
One Fairfax City Council candidate has received more that $25,000 in campaign donations, far surpassing the other 10 candidates in the race.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Anthony Amos’ campaign has received significantly more donations than the campaigns of his 10 opponents in the Fairfax City Council race, according to the latest financial filings with the State Board of Elections.
Between June 1 and Sept. 30, 2024, Amos raked up a total of $25,352 in contributions, which is nearly $10,000 more than the $15,410 received by fellow candidate Jeff Greenfield, who was second among the 11 candidates in terms of fundraising, according to state financial filings, as reported by the nonprofit Virginia Public Access Project.

Hall also reported receiving in-kind contributions of $610 and loans totaling $4,655.

Bonane's campaign committee reported a starting balance of $2,810 on Jan. 1, 2023 according to VPAP. As of Sept. 30, the campaign had raised $495 from 16 cash contributions of more than $100 and $740 from 16 cash contributions of $100 or less.
Jack Ryan began his campaign on June 14 with no money. The $600 in donations he received was all money he contributed to his own campaign. The single expenditure Ryan reported was $40 for campaigning itemized as paying for internet, online ads and email.
Tayor Alice Geaghan kicked off her campaign on June 17 and reported that she had received no donations or had any expenditures as of Sept. 30, according to VPAP
The next financial filing deadline for candidates in the Nov. 5 election is Oct. 28.
