VDOT To Close Ramps Overnight At I-66/Nutley Street Interchange

VDOT crews will be closing ramps and Nutley Street South overnight on Thursday, Friday and Monday.

FAIRFAX, VA — Virginia Department of Transportation work crews will be closing ramps at the I-66/Nutley Street interchange near the Vienna-Fairfax City-GMU Metro Station from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Monday.

The closures will allow crews to make bridge joint repairs, as part of the ongoing Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Southbound Nutley Street South at the interchange will also be closed during the bridge work. Drivers exiting I-66 who wish to travel south on Nutley Street will be detoured via Virginia Center Boulevard, Vaden Drive and Saintsbury Drive.

Nutley Street South over I-66

  • Nutley Street South will be closed over I-66 each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Drivers will be able to travel from Nutley Street South to I-66 West and from I-66 East to Nutley Street South.
  • Nutley Street South traffic will be detoured to Virginia Center Boulevard, stay to the left to Vaden Drive, turn left to Saintsbury Drive, then follow signs to Nutley Street.

  • The ramp will be closed each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • I-66 West traffic will exit to Nutley Street North, stay to the left and turn left onto Virginia Center Boulevard, stay to the left to Vaden Drive, turn left to Saintsbury Drive, then follow signs to Nutley Street.

Ramp from Nutley Street South to I-66 East

  • The ramp will be closed each night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Nutley Street South traffic will take Virginia Center Boulevard, stay to the left to Vaden Drive, turn left to Saintsbury Drive, turn left to Nutley Street North, then bear right to I-66 East.
