Winners Named For Business Holiday Windows In Fairfax

FAIRFAX, VA—Wondering who won the Fairfax Economic Development Authority's 2019 Holiday Window Decorating Contest? Well, wonder no more, boys and girls. We have a winner. Actually, make that two winners.
The grand prize went to Mara Hair and Mode Studio at 4011 Chain Bridge Road. Chosen by Fairfax City Council, the shop was judged on "craftsmanship, originality, creativity and effective use of color and material." Meanwhile, the People's Choice award went to Smash'd Creamery at 10427 North Street, #103. It received the most "likes" on the EDA's Facebook event page.
Said Danette Nguyen, business development associate with the Office of Economic Development: "The lights and decorations really added to the festive atmosphere of the city and highlighted the diversity of businesses in our city."
