Woodleigh Chase Appoints New Sales Director

Nahid Young is excited to share the community's vibrant lifestyle with more people as director of sales

Woodleigh Chase, the Erickson Senior Living community in Fairfax, Va., is pleased to announce that Nahid Young has been promoted to director of sales. Formerly serving as sales manager, Young has proven herself a dedicated and effective leader with a talent for connecting with prospective residents.

Young began her Erickson Senior Living career 18 years ago at Greenspring, the Erickson Senior Living community in Springfield, Va. Over the next several years, she worked in various positions before finding her true calling on the sales team.

Recently, the Tribune caught up with Young to learn about her career journey and to ask what she has in store for this exciting new chapter.

Q: Tell us about your career path at Erickson Senior Living from dining to sales?

A: After beginning my Erickson Senior Living career as a restaurant server, I took on various roles, including hostess, server trainer, staff development assistant, administrative assistant, and ultimately assistant general manager. I also managed Greenspring's three on-site convenience stores, served as communications manager, and worked in the Resident Life department.

In 2022, I heard about Woodleigh Chase, the new Erickson Senior Living community opening near George Mason University, my alma mater. I knew I wanted to be a part of their sales team and began working as a sales associate. I was later promoted to sales manager and now sales director.

One thing I really appreciate about Erickson Senior Living is how many opportunities there are for team members to explore their interests, fully supported by management. This is so helpful in finding a rewarding career.

Q: As a leader, how do you create a culture of exceptional customer service?

A: Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and, as a sales team, we're always working together to develop best practices that ensure prospective residents and their families feel welcome and well-informed. We hold morning huddles and weekly team meetings to ensure that our goals align with our mission. We strive to ensure that everyone we interact with feels heard, understood, and supported. We want prospective residents to trust that we are here to guide them as they make the best decision for their future. Ultimately, we hope that after extensive research and careful consideration, they will choose Woodleigh Chase as their home, if that is the right decision for them.

Q: What's your favorite thing about working at Woodleigh Chase?

A: I truly feel like I am making a difference in people's lives. When a resident moves in and I see them enjoying a meal in one of the restaurants, playing a game, or making new friends, it makes me happy to know that I played a small part in bringing this vibrant lifestyle to them. Watching people thrive after moving to Woodleigh Chase is one of the most rewarding feelings. Each person really becomes an extension of your family.

Q: What do you look forward to most as Woodleigh Chase continues to grow?

A: I am excited about the opportunity to share this lifestyle with even more people. It's been amazing to watch the staff and the residents invest their time and energy into making Woodleigh Chase a friendly, dynamic community. Whether it's through social events, activities, or volunteer work, we all contribute our unique talents to make this a great place to live and work.

We are actively building this community together, and now is the perfect time to be part of shaping it into something truly special. We all play a role in creating the community culture, and the choices we make today will influence the future of our community.
