Would-Be Bank Robber Surrenders To Police
A Fairfax man who left a bank when asked to after demanding money then surrendered to police as they arrived outside, a report said.
FAIRFAX, VA — A Fairfax man who left a bank Monday when employees asked him to leave after he demanded money then surrendered to police as they arrived outside, a report said.
Nicholas Rodriguez, 38, is accused of trying to rob a bank, which authorities didn't name, in the 12900 block of Fair Lakes Shopping Center in Fair Lakes. A Fairfax County police report said Rodriguez entered the bank about 10 a.m. and showed a note to a teller demanding money.
Police said no weapon was displayed.

Rodriguez was asked to leave and he walked away, authorities said.
As officers arrived at the bank, Rodriguez approached officers and identified himself as the robber. He was taken into custody.
