Archer Hotel Opens In Merrifield, Plans Design Overhaul Of Former Hyatt House

The Hyatt House in the Mosaic District of Merrifield officially changed hands Wednesday and donned its new Archer Hotel Falls Church name.

MERRIFIELD, VA — The Hyatt House in the Mosaic District of Merrifield officially changed hands Wednesday and donned its new Archer Hotel Falls Church name.

As part of the acquisition, Archer Hotel will be conducting a design overhaul of the former Hyatt House Falls Church/Merrifield, with a spring unveiling of the luxury boutique hotel.

The hotel is Archer’s second property in the Washington, D.C. area, joining the new Archer Hotel Tysons, and its eighth property company-wide.

The hotel will remain open during the renovation process. The makeover will include new public spaces, luxury guest rooms and suites, and a hotel bar. Guests also will receive bottled water and handmade caramels, bath amenities, and slippers with playful mustaches and lips to take home.

Along with the two hotels in Northern Virginia, LodgeWorks Partners, L.P., owner and operator of Archer Hotel, owns hotels in New York City; Austin, Texas; Napa, California; Burlington, Massachusetts; Florham Park, New Jersey; and Redmond, Washington.

The new Archer Hotel Falls Church will feature five unique designs for its guest rooms and suites. Archer Falls Church also will offer double king bed accommodations.

Unique to the Archer Hotel Falls Church will be the Grand Den, the hotel’s largest room type at more than 770 square feet. It will feature a master bedroom with a corner soaking tub and bathroom with a roomy tiled walk-in shower.

AKB, the hotel’s bar, will operate as a coffee bar during the day and a hotel bar at night.

Archer Falls Church also will offer 3,225 square feet of indoor meeting and event space, with capabilities to host groups of up to 100 people.

The hotel’s art collection will include works by local artists with Virginia and D.C. themes. The hotel also will have bedside books and a daily rotation of locally curated turndown treats, including wafer rolls from Craving for Chocolate, a McLean boutique chocolate atelier; peach tea gummy bears by Sugarfina; and chocolate-dipped fortune cookies by Fancy Fortune Cookie Co.

Nightly weekday and weekend rates start from $199 and $149, respectively.

Guests who book directly with Archer by phone or online will receive a $10 drink and dining credit that can be used for dine-in or takeout. The credit will automatically appear on the guest’s folio and be applied to any food and beverage charged to the guest room or suite.

Guests who stay at three different Archer Hotel locations automatically earn a free night for a future stay at the Archer Hotel of the guest’s choosing.
