1. Fairfax Water looks to replace Seven Corners water tank with bigger model (ffxnow.com) — A major Fairfax Water project could significantly improve water storage and reliability for customers in the City of Falls Church, Arlington, and Seven Corners by replacing a 75-year-old tank with a 1‑million‑gallon model. The new tank, serving the Willston Pressure Zone, would move within the Seven Corners Apartments complex, add a pedestrian link to Upton Hill Regional Park, and support future growth and fire protection standards.
   

2. Planned Lake Barcroft independent living complex lands financing (ffxnow.com) — A new 95-unit affordable senior living complex is moving forward just outside Falls Church after Fairfax County approved $16 million in tax-exempt bonds. The Kindred Crossing project, on land bought from First Christian Church of Falls Church, will offer mostly below-market units, on-site services, and a new home for Culmore Clinic, with construction expected to finish in 2027.
   

3. AARP Reveals Virginia's 10 Top Livable Communities (brunswicktimes-gazette.com) — Falls Church City has been named one of Virginia’s 10 most livable communities in AARP’s updated Livability Index, which scores places on housing, transportation, health, and more. The statewide list encourages local leaders, including in Falls Church, to improve affordability and age-friendly planning so residents can comfortably stay in their communities as they grow older.
   

4. FCDOT proposes streets for testing reduced 20-mph speed limit (ffxnow.com) — Falls Church drivers may be interested that Fairfax County is planning 20-mph pilot zones on selected neighborhood streets starting in summer 2026, similar to speed reductions already in place in Falls Church. The county is taking public input now and will test the lower limits through early 2027 to see how they affect safety and traffic before expanding to more districts.
