FALLS CHURCH, VA — Electric vehicle drivers will be faced with a new fee for charging vehicles at Falls Church City Hall starting in February.

As of Feb. 1, electric vehicle charger use at City Hall will come at a cost, but the first hour will be offered for free. Beyond the one hour, 20 cents per kilowatt hour will be charged.

The city said in a social media post the new fees encourage turnover to allow other vehicles to use chargers to charging a move vehicle fee — $3 per hour 15 minutes after the vehicle is fully charged.
