Five Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 16

It's hump day!

  1. Starting today, the City of Falls Church parking enforcement officers will ticket cars without decals properly posted on front windshields. Residents are reminded that all cars, trucks, and motorcycles normally garaged within the City must be registered and clearly display a city decal.
  2. The Library Board of Trustees meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. inside the Mary Riley Styles Public Library.
  3. On this day in 1914, the Federal Reserve System formally opens.
  4. On this day in 1989, then South African President FW de Klerk announced the scrapping of Separate Amenities Act.
  5. If today is your birthday, you share it with former MLB Dwight Gooden (47-years-old) and actress Lisa Bonet (44-years-old). Happy birthday!
