The Goddard School To Open, Offering More Early Childhood Education In Merrifield

MERRFIELD, VA — A new childhood education school will open to help meet demand in the Merrifield area.

The Goddard School of Falls Church, a childhood education franchise, will open its first Falls Church area location at 2921 Telestar Court in September. It will provide early childhood education and care for 190 children between 6 weeks and 6 years old as well as 30 teaching jobs.

"We’re thrilled to be able to provide high-quality early childhood education in the community to instill a love for learning in our students," said co-owner Kasey Chau. "Our school will offer our students the tools they need to take the next steps in school and in life."

The franchise is owned by siblings Kasey, Davis and Harrison Chau. Kasey Chau will be the on-site owner, while Davis Chau is the architect and construction developer and Harrison Chau will manage operations. Their children will be the first enrolled students at the school.

The Goddard School is known for providing a play-based approach to early childhood education and care. Some of the areas of interest children can explore are music, art, sign language, secondary languages, and problem solving through play. The franchise also has a program called Life Lesson Library, where children develop skills like self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and decision-making through favorite books.

The Goodard School of Falls Church will have an indoor gymnasium, two outdoor playgrounds, a rock wall, a miniature basketball court and an aquarium area. The school's health and safety protocols include hospital grade air filtration, sanitization equipment and a disinfection system.
