I-66 Congestion, Metrobus Routes Impacted: DC, NoVA AM Traffic

Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your morning commute on Tuesday, Sept. 20.

On the Roads

As of 7:40 a.m., major delays on eastbound I-66 Express Lanes are expected due to congestion near Bull Run Regional Park in Prince William County. Traffic backups are approximately 3 miles.

As of 7:38 a.m., a crash is impacting St. Louis Road in both directions south of Unison Road in Loudoun County. Drivers should follow police direction.

As of 7:25 a.m., a crash was reported on Southern Avenue impacting both directions near 36 Place SE and Oxon Run Place in Washington, DC.

As of 7:22 a.m., a disabled vehicle on southbound I-95 near Pohick Road in Fairfax County may cause delays.

As of 6:34 a.m., a crash is impacting Lewinsville Road in both directions near Swinks Mill Road in Fairfax County. Drivers can continue with caution.

As of 6:08 a.m. on the reversible I-395 Express Lanes, a disabled vehicle may cause delays south of King Street in Fairfax County. The northbound night shoulder is closed.

On the Metro

Blue Line service is not operating south of Reagan National Airport through Oct. 22 due to Metro's Blue and Yellow Line construction. Shuttle buses and other alternatives are available. There is no Yellow Line service, with Blue and Green Line service replacing Yellow Line service.

Bus driver availability may cause some delays on 8W, 17M, 21C, 22F, F6 and U4 Metrobus routes.

Tuesday will be sunny with a high near 84. At night, mostly clear with a low around 63.
