FALLS CHURCH, VA — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

Why do you believe the local hero should be recognized or honored?

I often point out to Demi Le that she is working full time for Fairfax County and the social services in that county with all she does. Her portfolio of volunteering includes:
- Regularly distributing food from two local pantries
- Organizing community events between the Falls Church Police and Eden Center to both build community support and help with recruiting police officers. In 2022 she organized Bubble Tea with a Cop at Eden Center and coordinated representation from Falls Church Police, Fairfax County Police and Fairfax County Sheriff's Department at the annual Vietfest celebration.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the local hero?

She never stops helping people, sometimes to her own detriment.
