Pawned Pendant Leads to Arrest of Burglar Suspects: Police

Man, woman charged after burglarizing home in West Falls Church area.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police say that a unique pendant pawned at an area pawn shop has led to the arrest of two suspects who police say burglarized a home in the West Falls Church area in June.

The incident took place in the 7400 block of Brad Street (see map below), between June 13-14.

Police charged a man and woman for burglarizing the home of a 51-year-old man and woman on Monday, June 13. Several items were stolen including jewelry, electronics, home goods and apparel, according to police.

Detectives determined one of the items, a unique pendant, was pawned at a nearby pawn shop.

Police identified two suspects and on Sunday, July 10, arrested Mark A. Green, 24, of Falls Church, and Melissa A. Sieck, 24, of Chesapeake Beach, Md. They were transported to jail. Sieck was charged with one count each of burglary, grand larceny and larceny with the intent to sell.

The investigation determined Green was allegedly involved in multiple burglaries; he was charged with four counts of burglary, four counts of grand larceny and one count of larceny with the intent to sell. The recovered stolen property will be returned to the victims.
