Seven Corners Phasing Study Final Recommendations To Be Presented
Based on feedback, Fairfax County will recommend a phased approach to transportation improvements at the Seven Corners intersection.

SEVEN CORNERS, VA — The Seven Corners Phasing Study will wrap up as Fairfax County's transportation department presents final recommendations in November for transportation improvements at the busy intersection.
As recommended in the study, transportation improvements would be done in the following phases:
- Phase 1: A Ring Road on the west side of the interchange between Route 50 and Route 7
- Phase 2: Continuing the Ring Road on the south side of the interchange between Route 7 and Route 50
- Phase 3: Reconfiguring the central interchange above Route 50 (Route 7 and Wilson Boulevard/Sleepy Hollow Road)
- Phase 4: Completing the Ring Road on the east side of the interchange between Route 50 and the intersection of Wilson Boulevard/Roosevelt Boulevard

The study recommendations result from discussions between 2012 and 2015 about the future of the Seven Corners intersection and its current challenges. After the Board of Supervisors adopted a plan amendment to the Seven Corners business center plan, 10 follow-on motions included directing staff to do a phasing analysis on recommended transportation improvements.
Feedback on the final recommendations will help the county's transportation department finish the phasing study by winter 2022-2023.

Exact timing of constructing improvements isn't final, but 2030 was identified as a start date at public meetings held in November 2021, Annandale Today previously reported. The Seven Corners ring road project was allocated $4.2 million in funding in the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority's latest six-year plan. That amount is partially funding of the $94.8 million full request from Fairfax County.
The virtual meetings to discuss the Seven Corners phased improvements will be held Wednesday, Nov 9 and Thursday, Nov. 10.
