Traffic Advisory: Roosevelt Boulevard Lane Closures

The pavement reconstruction project on Roosevelt Boulevard started Wednesday, the City announced.

FALLS CHURCH, VA -- The pavement reconstruction project on Roosevelt Boulevard started Wednesday, the City announced.

One lane will remain open in each direction through the duration of the project, which is expected to be completed by August 12 (subject to change).

The project stretches from Wilson Boulevard to the City limits (11th Road North). Access to all properties will be maintained. Construction will occur from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the northbound lane and 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the southbound lane.

This reconstruction project is different from the usual repaving and require more time to complete. Roosevelt Boulevard has weak and inconsistent base materials under the asphalt, which has led to numerous pothole repairs and pavement failures.

The Department of Public Works appreciates patience during this reinvestment in our City's infrastructure.
