2012 Art Biz Incentive Deadline Approaches

Eligible arts and cultural businesses, including restaurants which display art, can qualify for tax breaks.

Local arts and cultural businesses have less than half a month to apply for tax breaks offered under the city's Arts and Cultural District Incentive program.

Established businesses which display or produce artwork and are located within the downtown Arts District are eligible for a $250 reduction in their business license taxes.

The benefits are greatest for new arts and cultural businesses and established businesses which expand by more than 30 percent. Both types are eligible for a complete reduction of business license taxes for five years and an additional $2,000 off in permit fees.
