4 NoVA Teens Arrested In Series Of Burglaries In Fredericksburg Area: Sheriff
Four teenagers from Prince William and Stafford counties were arrested for a string of early morning burglaries, according to authorities.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Four juveniles, ranging in ages from 15 to 17, are facing multiple charges in connection to a series of burglaries that occurred over multiple jurisdictions, from Prince William County to Spotsylvania County, early Thursday morning, according to authorities.
Spotsylvania County sheriff's deputies responded around 3:30 a.m. to an alarm at Hall Precision and Gun Smithing, located at 5320 Plank Road in Fredericksburg.
"Surveillance footage showed four suspects attempting to force entry by prying open a door," according to the incident report. "The suspects fled in a vehicle after being startled by the business’s audible alarm."

The suspects' descriptions where broadcast to surrounding jurisdictions. A short time later, the Fredericksburg Police Department reported that suspects matching those descriptions had also burglarized a business in the city, according to the incident report. Fredericksburg police provided investigators in Spotsylvania with the tag number and description of the vehicle associated with the suspects.
"During the initial investigation, deputies located the suspect vehicle nearby," according to the incident report. "Evidence at the scene indicated the vehicle had likely been stolen. The registered owner in Prince William County was contacted and confirmed the vehicle had indeed been stolen."

Around 8 a.m., deputies received a report from a school bus driver that four masked people were in a subdivision off Plank Road near BJ's Wholesale Club, according to the sheriff's office. The bus driver said they were carrying what appeared to be a "large screwdriver."

Searching the neighborhood and following a brief foot pursuit, deputies took the four suspects into custody.
"The juveniles were still wearing clothing consistent with both the Fredericksburg incident and the attempted burglary at Hall Precision Gun Smithing," according to the report. "Parents were notified following identification of the suspects as juveniles."
The four teenagers, who were from Prince William and Stafford counties, were charged with vandalism, burglary, possession of a stolen auto, and conspiracy to commit larceny, according to the sheriff's office. Additional charges from other jurisdictions may be pending.
