Fireworks will be going off all over Northern Virginia during the long 4th of July weekend.

Many locals and tourists will be heading to the shores of the Potomac for the fireworks on the National Mall.

But there will also be several events in Patch towns across Northern Virginia.

Fireworks, Events

Arlington: Food truck rally, games, balloon art, face painting, live music before D.C. fireworks display.

Fairfax City: Parade at 10 a.m. Other events include Superhero Fest and Old Fashioned Fireman's Day. Live music begins at 6 p.m., followed by fireworks.

Falls Church: Live music begins at 7 p.m., with fireworks at 9:20 p.m.

Fredericksburg: 5-mile run, Car show, live music, street festival, fireworks at 9:30.

Herndon: Event begins at 7 p.m. with games and crafts for kids, fireworks display will be choreographed to music.

Leesburg: Independence Day Parade at 10 a.m. Music and food at 6 p.m., followed by fireworks display.

Manassas: Event from 4-10 p.m. includes rides, vendors and a new rooftop party at the city garage.

Manassas Park: Fireworks display begins at dusk.

Reston: Lake Fairfax Park will host carousel and boat rids, puppet shows, live music and fireworks display.

Vienna: Begins at 4 p.m. with the 2nd annual Vienna Inn Chili Dog Eating Contest. Followed by live entertainment and fireworks display.

Woodbridge: Potomac Nationals post-game fireworks display. Military Appreciation jerseys.
