Accidental Shooting Injures Two Young Men: Deputies

Two Stafford men were treated for shooting injuries that were not life threatening, according to Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

STAFFORD, VA — Two young men are expected to recover after a gun went off, apparently by accident, Thursday afternoon, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

The men, ages 19 and 21, were treated at Mary Washington Hospital for injuries that were not life threatening. Police had initially reported the two were juveniles.

Deputies responded at 4:15 p.m. Thursday to Banner Springs Circle to a report of a shot fired inside the home.

"It is believed, at this time, that when the gun was discharged, the bullet passed through the hand of one juvenile and into the arm of the other," according to a Sheriff's Office statement. "A search warrant was obtained and the house was searched. Multiple firearms were recovered at the scene."
