AP: Obama to Visit Fredericksburg
Senior Democratic official tells media that visit will try to sell jobs plan to the country, locals.

Update - 5:07 p.m. - A White House official has confirmed that President Obama will be traveling through North Carolina and Virginia between October 17 and 19 to focus on jobs and the economy. Fredericksburg is one of the scheduled stops, but no official announcement from the White House has yet been issued specifying the date and time of the local visit.

President Barack Obama may be visiting Fredericksburg within the month. According to the Associated Press, which cites an unnamed senior Democratic official, the president will be visiting four cities in Virginia as part of a series of speeches designed to make the case for a new series of economic measures. The cities purportedly include Fredericksburg, Newport News, Charlottesville and Danville. Dates and other specifics regarding the visit have yet to be disclosed.
Obama is familiar with the Fredericksburg area. During his 2008 presidential campaign, Obama stopped by Fredericksburg to deliver a 26 minute speech the day following the first presidential debate. An estimated 25,000 turned out to hear him speak in the driving rain.
