Bank Robber Gets Away With Cash In North Stafford: Sheriff's Office

Detectives are investigating a bank robbery that took place Tuesday when a man walked into Carter Bank & Trust and implied he had a gun.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a bank robbery that took place Tuesday morning in North Stafford.

The robbery occurred around 10:45 a.m. at Carter Bank & Trust on Worth Avenue. A man walked inside the bank, demanded cash and indicated he had a firearm, according to the sheriff’s office.

The suspect then fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. The sheriff’s office used a K-9 and drone to search for the suspect. Two schools in the area were ordered to go on a partial lockdown during the search for the suspect, the sheriff’s office said.

The suspect was described as a Black male in his twenties, 6 feet tall with a slim build in a gray jacket, blue Polo shirt, blue jeans and a blue cap.
