City Employee Accused of Sexual Battery
City detectives made the arrest, after an adult female contacted police.
An employee of the City of Fredericksburg Department of Public Works was arrested Dec. 28 and charged with misdemeanor sexual battery, Natatia Bledsoe, Fredericksburg Police Department public information officer said in a press release.
Zolly Hawthorne, 59, of Spotsylvania, was released by the magistrate on
his own recognizance.
An adult female reported to police on Dec. 27 that she had been assaulted inside the city maintenance building at 1000 Tyler Street on the afternoon of December 14. The victim, who knew the offender, was not physically injured, Bledsoe said.
