City Sprouts Community Garden
The city parks and recreation department is starting a new community garden. Application period begins in January.

Got a green thumb but lack a sunny spot to sprout fresh veggies? Then you might want to check out a new community garden program offered by the Fredericksburg Parks, Recreation and Public Facilities Department.
The garden will be located at the intersection of Grove Avenue and Littlepage Street in the Cossey Botanical Garden.
City residents can apply for a 10 by 10 foot garden plot beginning in January. They are available on a first come, first serve basis. Plot fees are $50 with a $25 cleanup deposit fee. There is no fee to be added to the waiting list. Applications will be accepted from Jan. 1 through Feb. 28, 2012.
