Update: Severe Storm Threat, Flooding Possible Thursday
Storm watch Thursday, flash flood watch for region overnight. Repeated thunderstorms and heavy rain expected.

Thursday night’s commute will be a wet and stormy one, and the potential for strong storms has led the National Weather Service to issue a severe thunderstorm watch across the region.
Thursday afternoon into the evening, the main threat is damaging wind with large hail and isolated tornadoes also possible, the NWS says. The greatest risk will be between 4 and 9 p.m.
The region will also be under a flash flood watch from 5 p.m. until 6 a.m. Friday for most of the region, except for the Fredericksburg area.

Storms with heavy rain are expected. There's the potential for repeated thunderstorms over the same areas, which would result in flooding.
People in the watch area are encouraged to monitor the forecast Thursday and be prepared to take action, if necessary, according to the weather service.
