Flying Insects Found In Fredericksburg Restaurant Kitchen: Report
Rappahannock Area Health District inspectors recently reported finding 12 health code violations at a Fredericksburg assisted living center.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Rappahannock Area Health District inspectors reported finding health code violations at 19 Fredericksburg food establishments they visited June 27-July 11.
Inspectors reported finding 12 health code violations at Cambridge Gardens Assisted Living, including storing tuna salad, raw ground beef and raw burger patties, as well as previously cooked items, at improper temperatures in the reach-in cooler. During the inspection, the person in charge discarded all food items.
During a July 3 inspection at Sizzling Kabob & Grill, Inc., an inspector observed several flying insects at the back of the house, along with harborage conditions under the three-compartment sink.

In minimize the presence of insects, rodents and other pests, the restaurant needed to routinely inspect all shipments of food and suppies, and use trapping devices or other means of pest control.
