Fredericksburg Man Wanted For 2 Felonies Arrested During Traffic Stop
A Fredericksburg man with two outstanding felony warrants was arrested during a traffic stop, according to authorities.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A Frericksburg man who was wanted out of Stafford County on two felony offenses was arrested Sunday night after he was stopped for speeding on Emancipation Highway, according to authorities. The traffic stop also resulted in an additional drug-related charge.
A sheriff’s deputy was patrolling on Butler Road around 7:10 p.m. when he spotted a Jeep Cherokee traveling at 54 mph in a 35 mph zone, according to the incident report. The deputy determined that the vehicle was registered to Jeffery Roles of Fredericksburg, who was wanted on two outstanding felony warrants.
When the deputy tried to stop Roles' Jeep, he pulled into a gas station at 201 Emancipation Highway. Without being told to, Roles gout out of the vehicle, laid on the ground, and surrendered to deputies, according to the sheriff’s office.

After sniffing around the outside of the Jeep, a K9 officer alerted, which gave deputies probable cause to search the vehicle. They recovered a white crystalline substance, according to authorities.
Roles was arrested on a charge of possession of controlled substances and was served the two outstanding warrants, according to the sheriff’s office. He was then held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

On July 1, 2024, a Stafford Circuit Court grand jury indicted Roles on a felony charge of possession of controlled substances, court records say. On Aug. 8, 2024, the grand jury issued a capias warrant for Roles’ arrest for failing to appear in court.
On Tuesday morning, Roles appeared in Stafford Circuit Court to face the felony capias charge. He has a March 20 hearing date for the felony failing to appear and possession charges.
Roles also appeared in Stafford General District Court on Tuesday for the possession of controlled substances charge from Sunday night's arrest, according to court records. He is due back in court on April 3.
