Girl Dies Trying to Save Grandmother in Spotsylvania House Fire: Report
Two were killed in the blaze while one was sent to the hospital Jan. 12.

A house fire in Spotsylvania took the lives of two people and caused serious injuries to a third
Spotsylvania firefighters responded to the blaze at 13000 block of Fox Gate Drive around 5 p.m. Monday, CBS 6 reports. Deputy Fire Chief Joseph Sposa said in an email to CBS 6 that another child may have been playing with fire starting materials and caused the fire.
Resident Roanna Hill, 12, ran back into the burning home to save her grandmother Carole Hill, 75, but both parties became trapped on the second floor, according to CBS 6. The grandmother and granddaughter succomned to injuries from the fire.

The third victim, Roanna’s father, was transported to the VCU Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
