  1. Daniel Christopher Shannon, a resident of Fredericksburg, was apprehended by Prince William County police after being sought for a shooting incident that occurred during an argument at a residence in Dumfries. Shannon fired multiple rounds upstairs before fleeing in a blue 2006 Ford Explorer. One victim succumbed to their injuries, while another, a 23-year-old man, remains hospitalized but is expected to recover. Shannon is now in custody, facing charges including murder, aggravated malicious wounding, firearm-related offenses, and discharging a firearm within a dwelling. (Daily Voice)
  2. Fredericksburg police arrested a woman after she placed a burning T-shirt inside a resident's front door mailbox. After smelling smoke, the resident noticed the fire and extinguished it before calling 911. The suspect, Ariel Richardson, was arrested for burning an occupied dwelling and is being held without bond. (WSUA 9)
  3. A crash on I-95 in Stafford County left one man dead and another injured. According to Virginia State Police, the crash occurred before 8:00 a.m. on the southbound lanes near mile marker 134 when a BMW driver in the left lane suddenly shifted to the right hitting a Chrysler sedan, causing the BMW to crash into the Jersey wall. The 52-year-old driving the Chrysler was sent to a Stafford Hospital with minor injuries. (Patch)
