SPOTSYLVANIA, VA — The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office charged a 75-year-old man with brandishing a gun after he confronted an Amazon driver who was delivering a package Monday night, according to reports.

During the incident, the suspect, Rondall Shifflet of Spotsylvania, made a “racial statement toward the driver while he was threatening him,” the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office said.

Shifflet was arrested and charged with brandishing. The firearm was recovered by deputies, the sheriff’s office said.

After getting threatened by Shifflet, the Amazon driver, who is Black, flagged down a deputy around 9:40 p.m. on Monday, according to reports. The incident occurred in the 10300 block of Piney Branch Road.

The driver had gotten his delivery truck stuck in Shifflet's driveway before he was confronted by the homeowner.

The Amazon driver told FOX 5 that he had delivered a package to the home Monday night and was trying to turn the truck around so he would not have to back down the long driveway when his truck got stuck in the mud.

After Shiflett yelled at him and used the “racial statement” with a gun in hand, the Amazon driver started recording with his cell phone. In the recording, the driver says he’s going to leave, FOX 5 reported.

"Look, see, it’s cocked," the man identified as Shiflett says in the video. "You better go on."
