Jesus-napper Arrested

A 25-year-old Spotsylvania woman has been arrested for her role in the theft of a baby Jesus from a Nativity scene.

Fredericksburg Police have arrested 25-year-old Spotsylvania County resident Amanda Crelia in connection with the theft of a baby Jesus figure from a Nativity scene in Central Park last week.

The baby Jesus was found on December 15 after Crelia led police to her father's house where she had hidden the stolen figure. According to police, Crelia's father did not know the figure was being stored on his property.

Crelia stands charged with one count of grand larceny for the theft. She was released by the magistrate on a personal recognizance bond.

Police say of a 25-year-old Spotsylvania County woman. The tipster printed off the picture and its comments before the suspect removed them from Facebook. The tipster then turned the evidence over to the Fredericksburg Police Department, who were able to track down the missing baby Jesus.

The figure was returned to it's spot on December 16.
