Man Sentenced For Fredericksburg Carjacking After Plea Deal: Report
A 25-year-old man from King George pleaded guilty to a carjacking that happened in Fredericksburg in January 2023, according to a report.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 25-year-old man from King George has pleaded guilty to a carjacking that happened in Fredericksburg in January 2023, according to a report.
At his sentencing in Fredericksburg Circuit Court, Matthew Ian Harris was sentenced to 10 years in prison with all but two years and nine months suspended, the Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star reported Wednesday.
The prosecutor and Harris’ attorney worked out a plea deal where charges of abduction and grand larceny of a vehicle against Harris were dropped.

The victim was driving on Emancipation Highway in Fredericksburg on Jan. 11, 2023, when Harris got into the victim’s car at a traffic light and then drove off in the car after the victim fled the car, according to the Free Lance-Star.
