MLK Holiday Schedule for City Services

City of Fredericksburg offices will be closed Jan. 21 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Fredericksburg City Public Schools will also be closed.

The city announced the following changes in trash and recycling collection due to the holiday:

• Monday’s trash will be picked up Tuesday;
• Tuesday’s trash will be picked up Wednesday;
• Monday and Tuesday’s recycling will be picked up Tuesday;
• Wednesday thru Friday collections will proceed as usual.

The Belman Rd. Recycling Center and the Stafford Landfill will be open normal hours: Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Monday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The eight branches of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library system are open regular hours Jan. 21.

VRE will not offer service Jan. 21. 

Fredericksburg Regional Transit (FRED) reports there will be no VRE Feeder Bus Service VS1 and VF1, and no Stafford Commuter Lot Shuttle D6 service Monday.
