  1. A multi-vehicle crash on I-95 closed exit 136 in Northern Virginia and left two people dead. Starting in Fredericksburg, an overturned tractor-trailer caused the five-mile-long backup. The driver was taken to a local hospital and will be treated for his injuries while police investigate. (NBC Washington)
  2. Vicky and Bruce White of Fredericksburg ride 660 miles as a way to remember those fallen during the terrorist attacks of 9/11. As part of the Sep. 11 National Memorial Trail Alliance, Vicky and Bruce biked the tour, starting in Pittsburg and ending in Philadelphia. The bike tour, which included road and trail riding, started on Jun. 20 and finished on Monday. (TN Online)
  3. Wednesday, The city's Clean and Green Commission announced the 2023 Solarize Fredericksburg campaign launch. Running until Aug. 31, this initiative will make it less complex and costly for customers to switch to solar power by vetting installers who commit to reduced prices. Through a competitive vetting process, LEAP has selected Convert Solar and Tiger Solar installers to manage this year's campaign. (Subscription: Fredricksburg.com)
