“Noodles & Company takes the security of our guests’ information extremely seriously, and we apologize for the inconvenience this incident has caused our guests,” Kevin Reddy, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Noodles & Company, stated.

The investigation into the “unusual activity” on the company’s credit card processor started May 17. The company says it immediately started working with experts to find out if the system had been compromised. On June 2, the company says it found “suspicious activity” that indicated a possible breach using malware.
