- A 19-year-old man named Antione Fox was shot and killed on Lafayette Boulevard. The Fredericksburg Police Department is actively investigating the fatal shooting, which occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Jun. 11. Patrol officers responded to a call about an unconscious male bleeding and found Fox with gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Fredericksburg Police Department at (540) 373-3122. (PotomacLocal.com)
- Grace Anne Braxton, a resident of Fredericksburg, is set to compete in the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin. She will be participating in the golf event, with William Braxton as her caddy. Other athletes and coaches from Special Olympics USA will also be representing the country in various sports. The community is encouraged to support and wish them luck in the competition. - Navy Musician 3rd Class Alexander Charles, a native of Fredericksburg, performed for a crowd at the Downtown Disney LIVE! stage in Anaheim, California as part of Los Angeles Fleet Week 2023. Fleet Week provides an opportunity for the public to meet Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard teams and learn about America's sea services.
