FREDERICKSBURG, VA—If you're looking for nice way to chill out following however else you choose to celebrate Memorial Day on Monday, May 27, this would seem a desired destination. It's the Rappahannock Pops Orchestra's annual Memorial Day concert.
The free two-hour gala is 6-8 p.m. outside Mary Washington Hospital at 1001 Sam Perry Boulevard. Lawn chairs and blankets are the rule rather than the exception. There also will be a kids parade, as well as snacks, drinks and baked goods from donor vendors—purchases of which, as the orchestra says on its website, "support the POPS."
