Smoker Punches Pub Employee in Downtown Fredericksburg

Woman was punched in the stomach when she confronted a smoker on the back patio at Spirits. Fredericksburg City Police releases description.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — A woman was punched in the stomach when she confronted a smoker at a downtown bar and grill, according to Fredericksburg City Police.

At 1:15 a.m. Saturday, the employee at Spirits on Caroline Street found the unknown man smoking on the back patio.

When she asked him to stop smoking, the man allegedly refused and punched her in the stomach. He then left the bar, according to police.

Police describe the suspect as a white male, approximately 5’5” to 5’8” in height with black hair, brown eyes and facial hair.

Motor Vehicle Theft: 300 block William Street, 6/25, 10:00 p.m. A citizen reported that he parked his car on William Street at approximately 10:00 p.m. Saturday night. When he returned the following day at 9:00 a.m. to retrieve his vehicle, it was gone. The vehicle is a 2007 two-door silver Honda Civic. The investigation is ongoing.

Criminal Activity Report: Happy Endings Bar and Grill, 1315 Princess Anne Street, 6/27, 1:30 a.m. An employee reported that an unknown person drove by and threw eggs at the establishment and yelled profanities. Approximately 40 minutes later, patrons of the bar reported to the employee that an unknown person attempted to throw eggs at them while they were outside. Police also found two vehicles parked in the 1100 block of Princess Anne Street with egg on them. The investigation is ongoing.

Vandalism:

  • Boys and Girls Club, 200 Gunnery Road, 6/24, 1:00 p.m. An employee reported that an unknown person shattered the back windows of two of the club’s vehicles. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
  • 100 block Kings Mill Drive, 6/25, 11:30 p.m. A citizen reported that an unknown person slashed his company vehicle’s left rear tire. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Larceny:

  • Two Times New, 2028 Plank Road, 6/24, 11:00 a.m. A citizen reported that she placed her cell phone in a stroller and left the store. When she returned to retrieve it, her cell phone was gone. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
  • Family Dollar, 2017 Lafayette Boulevard, 6/25, 6:00 p.m. An employee reported that an unknown person stole cash from her purse. The investigation is ongoing.
