Speed, Aggressive Driving Possible Factors In Fatal Crash In Fredericksburg: Police
Speed and aggressive driving may have been contributing factors in Friday's fatal crash in Fredericksburg, authorities say.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Investigators believe that speed and aggressive driving may have been contributing factors in a fatal crash that occurred Friday morning in the Fredericksburg area, according to authorities.
Around 9:36 a.m., a black Ford SUV crossed multiple lanes of traffic before crashing into a traffic light pole at the Plank Road and Gateway Boulevard intersection, according to the incident report.
Emergency medical personnel from the Fredericksburg Fire Department immediately began life-saving measures and transported the driver to a nearby hospital, according to the report. The driver later was pronounced dead.

Although the family has been notified, the identity of the driver has not been released as of 8:30 a.m. on Monday, authorities say. Reconstruction teams from both the city police and the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the crash.
