Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office Holds Halloween Trunk N Treat

The event featured live music, food, and about sixty vehicles loaded with candy for area kids.

SPOTSYLVANIA, VA - Spotsylvania County Sheriff Roger L. Harris and his Office held their 2nd annual Trunk N Treat event at the Public Safety Building, Municipal Lot, on October 30th, 2016, from 6pm-8:30pm. Approximately sixty vehicles, including Sheriff’s Office specialty vehicles, were decorated in the Halloween spirit. Trunks of each vehicle were loaded with candy. The theme for this year’s event was Super Heroes. It is estimated that nearly 10,000 people were in attendance and over 10,000 lbs. of candy were distributed. Much of the candy was donated by local businesses and community members. An entertainment area, with live music, played by local band Big Rob & Etc. Vendors, food, and the barrel train were also present.

Sheriff Harris stated “this was a great night for the kids and the families in Spotsylvania County and seeing that it was safe for all who attended was our top priority.” Kids and adults dressed in costume and stated that it was a wonderful way to continue to bring the community together by bringing them away from traffic and busy neighborhoods and a wonderful way to ensure that the edibles were safe.
