In the heart of Virginia, a bold and beautiful mission is rolling through the streets—literally. The Green Thread Project, proudly sponsored by Healing Seed VA and Whole Greens VA, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit initiative serving individuals and families in need across Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Orange, and Caroline Counties.

At its core, The Green Thread Project is about more than just clothing. It's about dignity, compassion, and community connection. What began as a vision to help those experiencing homelessness and hardship has grown into a full-scale, mobile clothing closet—housed inside a transformed 40-foot school bus, fully stocked with free clothing and hygiene products, no ID required, no questions asked.

Our Mission:

To meet people where they are—with open hearts, open minds, and open hands. We aim to restore dignity through free access to essentials like clothing and hygiene supplies, while also breaking down barriers and building trust.

Our Vision:

A community where basic needs are met with love, where people feel seen and supported, and where no one is left out due to circumstances beyond their control.

Our Purpose:

To create a safe, judgment-free mobile space that travels directly into communities to serve those who may not have access to shelters or traditional resources. With the support of local individuals and businesses, we’re helping to fill the gaps—one pair of jeans, one toothbrush, and one warm smile at a time.

But we can’t do it alone.

The Green Thread Project is currently in need of donations and sponsorships to keep our mission moving. We gratefully accept:

• Gently used adult clothing and shoes
• New undergarments
• New hygiene products (toothpaste, deodorant, wipes, etc.)
• Monetary donations for fuel, upkeep, and supplies
