Starbucks Overcharges Some Customers, 'Will Gladly Make This Right'
New prices on some Starbucks beverages were expected to begin July 12, but a "system error" overcharged some customers last week.

Your favorite Starbucks drink may cost more starting next week, and you may have already seen the increase due to a computer "system error" last week.
The retail coffee giant announced plans for the increase on Friday, noting prices will go up on some drinks by as much as 30 cents. The company routinely increases prices in late June and early July. Price increases at Starbucks in 2015 were between five and 20 cents per beverage.
The latest increase was expected to begin on Tuesday, July 12.

"Unfortunately, that price adjustment was prematurely entered into the point of sale systems in our U.S. company-operated stores," according to a Starbucks statement. "As a result, some customers were charged incorrectly."
The error was identified on Friday and corrected by Saturday.
