Thanksgiving Keeps Police Busy
Shots fired in Central Park, attempted wounding, a bizarre but brief home invasion, and an irate pizza customer, among others, kept Fredericksburg police busy over the holiday weekend. Read more details in today's City Blotter.

FREDERICKSBURG POLICE INCIDENTS MONDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2011
WEAPONS VIOLATION:
Buffalo Wild Wings, 1638 Carl D Silver Pkwy, Nov. 26 1:15 a.m. Police responded to reports of a fight inside the business involving 10-15 male subjects. Witnesses reported that employees of the business forced the assailants outside where the fight continued, and that one of the suspects fired multiple shots into the air as he was leaving the parking lot in a dark-colored sedan. All of the parties involved in the fight had left the scene prior to police arrival. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED MALICIOUS WOUNDING:
1700 block Princess Anne St, Nov. 27 8:40 p.m. Two friends reported that they were leaving Hardees when they were confronted by an acquaintance in the parking lot who brandished a knife at them. The two friends tried to walk away from the subject, but he followed one of them down Princess Anne Street and confronted the male victim a second time near Goodwill Industries. The suspect had left the scene prior to police arrival and officers searched the area but were unable to locate him. A warrant was obtained for Shaquan Morgan, 19, of Fredericksburg charging him with attempted felonious assault, and Morgan was arrested this morning in the 1300 block of Caroline St. after the victim encountered him again at Micah Ministries and called police. Morgan was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
BURGLARY:
1300 block Dandridge St, Nov. 23 - Nov. 27 3:00 p.m. Three roommates reported that an unknown person entered the home and stole televisions and game systems from various rooms in the house. There was no sign of forced entry to the home but there was a window that had been left unsecured. The investigation is ongoing.
1600 block Franklin St, Nov. 22 – Nov. 27 8:40 p.m. A resident reported that an unknown person entered the home, ransacked a bedroom, and stole a laptop computer. Officers found a broken window screen and window that appeared to have been forced open. The investigation is ongoing.
UNLAWFUL ENTRY:
1300 block Alum Spring Rd, Nov. 19 – Nov. 26 3:00 p.m. The property owner reported that the metal siding on the building was removed and it appeared that an unknown person had attempted to enter the structure. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
200 block Charles St, Nov. 27 3:10 am. A resident reported that he was watching television in his living room when a male subject pried the window screen from a partially open window in the room and dove head first through the opening onto the floor. When confronted by the resident, the suspect seemed highly agitated and excited. The resident turned to call 911 and the suspect fled back out through the window. A short time later, an officer located a person matching the description of the suspect walking around Hazel Hill Apartments, and the victim was able to positively identify the detained subject as the offender. The suspect is a 17-year- old resident of Stafford County and he was turned over to the custody of a parent with a referral to juvenile intake authorities. The investigation is ongoing.
LARCENY:
200 block Frazier St, 10/24 – Nov. 25 12:00 p.m. A resident reported that several pieces of jewelry had been stolen from her room over the past thirty days. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
TAMPERING WITH AUTO:
1000 block Featherston Ct, Nov. 23 3:20 am. A resident reported that his motion-activated outdoor lighting came on and he looked outside to see an unknown subject inside his vehicle. The resident went outside and confronted the subject, who then ran from the scene accompanied by a second subject who had been concealed from the victim’s view by the vehicle. The victim was unable to describe the two subjects, other than he believed they were both males. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle. No known suspects at this time.
VANDALISM:
Pizza King, 1964 Plank Rd, Nov. 23 10:00 p.m. The owner reported that a male subject ordered a cup of ice with his meal and then poured an alcoholic beverage he had brought with him into the cup. The owner asked the subject to leave because the business is not permitted to have alcohol on the premises. The subject became irate and punched a hole in the wall of the restaurant before leaving the scene with his two friends in a black Honda Civic. The investigation is ongoing.
Hazel Hill Apartments, 100 Princess Anne St, Nov. 25 – Nov. 26 10:15 a.m. Five victims reported that the tires on their vehicles were slashed and flattened, with a total of eight vehicles vandalized among the reporting parties. The investigation is ongoing.
DUI ARRESTS:
Scott Dwyer, 30, of Spotsylvania was arrested in the 3100 block of Fall Hill Ave.
Valerie Van Balen, 53, of Georgia was arrested in the 1300 block of Lafayette Blvd.
ARRESTS:
Danielle Jones, 24, of Spotsylvania was arrested for possession of marijuana. Juvenile female, 16, was arrested for shoplifting from Walmart.
Robert Baker, of no fixed address was arrested for trespassing.
Jeffrey Neel, 49, of no fixed address was arrested for public intoxication and on a warrant from the Virginia State Police for a sex offender registration violation.
Jami Mcelrath, 30, of King George was arrested for petit larceny, credit card larceny, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Clayton Beverly, 24, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery.
Frank Asare, 28, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from Prince William County charging him with using obscene language over the telephone.
Amy Tash, 33, of Fredericksburg was arrested on a warrant from Spotsylvania charging her with felony bad check.
Christopher Booth, 33, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery and preventing another person from summoning assistance.
Paul Williams, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested for public intoxication and underage possession of alcohol.
Eugene Cunningham, 32, of Spotsylvania was arrested for stalking.
Lawrence Brown, 28, of Spotsylvania was arrested for domestic assault and battery.
Eleni Trevino, 19, of Fredericksburg was arrested for shoplifting from WaWa.
Marshall Foye, 27, of Spotsylvania was arrested on a warrant from Fairfax charging him with failure to appear in court.
Steven Smirco, 54, of Fredericksburg was arrested for domestic assault and battery.
