UMW to Open 3rd Campus at Dahlgren
Campus to link base personnel with regional, national higher education opportunities.

is getting ready to open its third campus next month near the Dahlgren Naval Support Facility in King George County. The campus and its programs are geared towards the professionals working on and near the naval base.
The 27-acre campus will be the central location of graduate science and engineering programs already offered on the naval base by various state institutions. University officials hope to use the space to foster partnerships between the university, base personnel and regional employers.
Students will be able to enroll in academic courses and workforce training programs in January. Course availability will be determined by demand.
Courses will be taught by a number of state universities as well as the Naval Postgraduate School and the Naval War College. Germanna and Rappahannock community colleges are also expected to offer courses next year.
The campus consists of a LEED Silver certified two-story, 42,000 square foot building with 19 classrooms seating between 12 to 32 students. The building also features group study rooms and computerized classrooms.
