Senior standout Jenna McRae scores 20 in victory.

Senior guard Jenna McRae scored a game-high 20 points to lead the University of Mary Washington women's basketball team to a 60-48 win at Shenandoah University on Tuesday night. The Eagles improve to 4-0 on the season.

The lead changed hands several times in the first half, with Shenandoah holding a 15-12 lead with 12:38 left in the half. Trailing 17-15 with 10:04 to play, the Eagles went on a 9-0 run, and carried a 32-26 advantage to halftime.

UMW scored the first six points of the second half, including a pair of baskets from McRae, and never looked back. The Eagles led by as many as 19 points on a Sarah Jones three pointer, but Shenandoah cut into the deficit to force a 12-point final.

The Eagles shot 36% from the floor, as did the Hornets. Both teams made seven three pointers, and UMW held a 46-29 lead in rebounds.

In addition to McRae's 20 points (on 7-14 shooting, including 4-7 three point attempts), sophomore forward Aby Diop scored 12 points and collected five rebounds. Senior guard Katie Wimmer and sophomore Brieneke Matthes each scored seven points for UMW, with Claire Brooks grabbing nine rebounds.

The Eagles will be back in action on November 30 when they visit Stevenson University in the Capital Athletic Conference opener.
