Deadline For Registering To Vote In Fredericksburg For Nov. 2 VA Election Is Tuesday Night

Tuesday is the last day for residents to register or update their address before the Nov. 2 general election in Virginia.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Time is running out for unregistered voters in Fredericksburg who wish to participate in the Nov. 2 general election in Virginia.

For residents who are not registered to vote or need to update their address, the voter registration deadline is this Tuesday by 5 p.m. in-person, 11:59 p.m. online, or postmarked by mail on Oct. 12.

Early voting began Sept. 17 for the Virginia general election, which will decide races for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and House of Delegates.

Fredericksburg residents also will be voting for sheriff, commonwealth's attorney, treasurer, commissioner of the revenue, ward-specific city council and school board.

  • In-person early voting 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Executive Plaza, 601 Caroline St. 5th floor, Sept. 17- Oct. 30.
  • Last day to register/update voter registration, Oct. 12
  • Last day to request a by-mail ballot is Oct. 22. Witness signatures are required for vote by-mail ballots.
  • Saturday in-person early voting 9 a.m. to- 5 p.m. - Executive Plaza, 601 Caroline St. 5th floor, Oct. 23 and Oct. 30
  • Election Day, Nov. 2, all polling places will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Residents may return their vote-by-mail ballot to the ballot drop box located at 601 Caroline St. The drop box is available for ballot return until 7 p.m. on Nov. 2, Election Day. Witness signatures are required for vote by-mail ballots.
