Weather Warning: Quarter-Size Hail and Damaging Winds Possible

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 5:30 p.m. for Fredericksburg and surrounding communities.

A storm capable of producing quarter-size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph was spotted in the area at 4:44 p.m.

Deadly lightning and very heavy rain are also possible. 

"For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business," according to the weather service alert. 

Heavy rains also flood roads quickly, so do not drive into area where water covers the road.
